Ghana’s government has given Japanese automaker Toyota the green light to assembly vehicles in the country starting next year.
Toyota Tsusho, a group member of the world’s largest car maker made the announcement today.
In a press released made available to Qibla FM, the company said it plans to spend up to $3,000,000 to setup a plant in Tema (25km east of capital Accra).
The plant according to the company will have the capacity to assembly 1,300 units of the Toyota Hilux when it opens in the middle of 2021.
The company said it will also hire 50 new employees to work at the facility.
