Ghana: Mahama sets ticket to face Akufo-Addo

Former President John Dramani Mahama has chosen Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate for the 2020 elections in Ghana.

Mr. Mahama made his pick known to the public on Monday to end months of speculation over whom he will pick to partner him for the December contest.

Mahama stressed Agyemang-Opoku’s academic background among other qualifications which he said made her the right sidekick for him.

“She is God-fearing, a distinguished scholar, a conscientious public servant & a role model,” Mahama said.

Mrs. Opoku-Agyemang served as the minister for education between February 2013 to January 2017.

Research of the vice presidential nominee’s resume by QIBLA FM also shows that in 2018 she served as a Chancellor at the Women’s University in Africa (Zimbabwe).

Eligible Ghanaian voters will head to the polls on December 7th, 2020 (barring any changes).
