US ambassador to Ghana expresses condolence over the demise of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
In an official statement published on the US Embassy website and also sent to Qibla FM, ambassador Stephanie Sullivan offered condolence to the government and the people of Ghana.
Mrs. Sullivan extended her sympathies to Rawlings’ widow Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings and their children.
She also credited the late former President for his contributions to Ghana both politically and economically.
“Rawlings is recognized internationally for steering Ghana’s transition from authoritarian rule to multi-party democracy.”
Ghana’s economic and political achievements at home and abroad will be a part of Jerry Rawlings’ legacy, the ambassador added.
