The father of undefeated mixed martial artist Khabib Nurmagomedov has passed away in Moscow due to COVID-19 complications.
The news of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s passing was officially confirmed via twitter by Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz on Friday.
Abdulmanap had been hospitalized since May when he tested positive for the pandemic virus following heart surgery.
He has coached Khabib since he was eight and up until his death served as his son’s head professional trainer.
Fellow fighters including Conor McGregor, whom Khabib defeated at UFC 229 sent out condolences to the Nurmagomedov family.
According to information gathered by QIBLA FM, Abdulmanap was 57 years old at the time of his death.
